The Locutory is a tribute to the deeply personalized landscape of the ‘90s-early 2000s internet, created by internet user Babewyndigo (a name which, for those unfamiliar with relatively niche archaeology terms and North American folklore, is a combination of the terms “babewyn”—a term used to refer to both gargoyles and grotesques—and “wendigo”—a creature from Algonquian folklore).
What is a locutory?
In short, your actual locutory is a room (typically, but not always, in a monastery) designated specifically for conversation—imagine a salon for monks. This particular locutory, however, is open to all who seek it (or rather, stumble upon it purely by happenstance). I personally have a lot to say on various trivial matters. The Locutory was created, in essence, to serve as a vacuum chamber for the aforementioned sayings.
